<h2>World-class blends now available in UpShot&#8482</h2>
<p>Birmingham, Ala. – Red Diamond, one of the three oldest coffee, tea and foodservice companies in the United States continuously operated by the same family, today announced it would be offering its superior coffee and tea products in single-serve format, leveraging LBP Manufacturing’s UpShot&#8482 Solution.</p>
<p>This next-generation “flow-through” technology offers the ideal single-serve experience. The unique filter features a proprietary mesh that allows customers to see and smell the coffee or tea from the moment they open the fresh seal outer packaging, delivering a full sensory experience. Unlike conventional single-serve systems, the UpShot filter’s mesh screen offers multiple points of contact for water, creating a significantly better brew. Finally, the brew cup is compatible with most single-serve brewers* and is made from 100 percent polypropylene, making it recyclable along with other #5 plastics.**</p>
<p>“While our company has a long history of innovation, our single-serve product is a game changer for us and the millions who enjoy Red Diamond daily,” said Dave Burke, executive vice president of retail distribution at Red Diamond. “We wanted more than just the convenience of a single-serve. Consumers spoke loudly that they couldn’t see or smell the coffee in conventional single serve options, both critical components of the coffee experience. <p>To ensure Red Diamond consumers get the most satisfying cup of coffee from their single-serve product, the cup contains 13 grams of coffee, versus the industry standard of 11 grams of coffee.</p>

<p>Women in the developing world whose livelihood depends on the cultivation of coffee are among the<br />
most vulnerable in the world when it comes to dying from cervical cancer. Thanks to Grounds for<br />
Health and the coffee companies who support their mission, many lives are being saved. Grounds for<br />
Health cultivates partnerships with coffee-farming communities to reduce the high rate of cervical<br />
cancer in low-resource settings. In fact, cervical cancer – though it is preventable, treatable and curable<br />
remains the leading cause of cancer death for women in the developing world solely for lack of access<br />
to prevention and early treatment. The 501(c)(3) organization focuses on developing effective,<br />
affordable, and sustainable prevention programs with the long-term goal of reducing unnecessary<br />
deaths from cervical cancer. Grounds for Health establishes community-driven, locally sustainable<br />
programs in rural coffee-growing areas that work to prevent cervical cancer through early screening<br />
and same-day treatment of pre-cancerous cells. Since 1996, Grounds for Health programs have<br />
screened nearly 40,000 women for this deadly disease and trained more than 250 local doctors and<br />
nurses to carry on the work in their communities.<br />

<p>The Red Diamond Board of Directors approved the following promotions to officer:</p>
<h3>Laurie Petrey – VP National Standards</h3>
<p>Laurie Petrey, National Standards Manager, has been promoted to Vice President. She leads Red Diamond’s<br />
National Quality Control efforts for manufacturing and tea production and Red Diamond dairy partners. Ms.<br />
Petrey has 35 years of leadership and management experience in the dairy and food manufacturing industries.<br />
She graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Microbiology.</p>
<h3>Dave Burke – Executive Vice President Retail Distribution</h3>
<p>Mr. Burke, with over 20 years of leadership experience in the beverage industry responsible for leading Red<br />
Diamond’s efforts in Retail Distribution including Ready to Drink Tea, Retail Sales, Private Label Retail, ECommerce<br />
and Pods, and Brand Management. He began his career at Coca Cola USA where he was VP,<br />
Marketing for the Capitol Division. Mr. Burke later spent eight years with The Pepsi Bottling Group where he was<br />
eventually promoted to the Chief Marketing Officer position. He was in a leadership position at Primo Water and<br />
Ice River Springs prior to joining Red Diamond. Mr. Burke earned a Bachelor’s Degree, Business Administration<br />
from Georgetown University and an MBA, Leadership, Finance, and Marketing from the University of North<br />
Carolina, Chapel Hill.</p>
<h3>Scott Nelson – VP Finance</h3>
<p>Mr. Nelson joined Red Diamond in September, and he leads Red Diamond’s Accounting group in managing the<br />
Company’s financial and accounting policies, systems and processes, tax and regulatory requirements, and<br />
budgetary process. Mr. Nelson was formerly with Frost Cummings Tidwell Group where he served as Audit<br />
Partner. Previously, he worked with Surgical Care Affiliates as the Manager of Partnership Accounting. He<br />
graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Accounting.</p>

<p>Leeds — “Over 100 years later the quality remains” not only pertains to Red Diamond coffee and tea, but its grounds as well.</p>
<p>Attaining a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University in Turf Grass Management and a master of business administration (MBA) from UAB, Red Diamond Groundskeeping Manager Brandon Haley strives to develop the best-maintained landscape in the Southeast.</p>
<p>Recently Haley and his staff of three received one of the ultimate awards in groundskeeping—the 2012 Green Star from the Professional Grounds Management Society.</p>
<p>In the company of such properties as the Biltmore in Asheville, North Carolina, University of Virginia and The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Red Diamond is honored to receive this national recognition.</p>
<p>“To be in the same league as this incredible list of properties is amazing,” said Red Diamond Director of Brand Management Steva Austill.</p>
<p>“This place is unique,” said Haley. “We are valued here and you can tell.”</p>
